In addition to establishing Thuy Nguyen city, Hai Phong will expand the central urban area to An Duong district and adjust the administrative boundaries of Hong Bang District (established An Duong District and adjust 3 communes of An Hung, Dai Village and An Hong to Hong Bang district). At that time, the inner city area consists of 8 districts: Le Chan, Hong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Kien An, Hai An, Duong Kinh, Do Son and An Duong.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Minh Cuong also signed Decision 3271/QD-UBND approving the addition of two industrial clusters in An Duong district to the planning of development of industrial clusters in Hai Phong city to 2020, Orientation to 2025.
The two industrial clusters are: Trang Due auxiliary industrial cluster in Hong Phong and An Hoa communes, An Duong district, with an area of about 58.8 ha; Le Thien industrial cluster - headquarters in Le Thien commune and Dai Khan commune, An Duong district. Area about 59.33 ha. With the properties of industrial clusters are high industrial, mechanical industry, electrical equipment, electronics - informatics; Supporting industry (serving high -tech industries, mechanical industry, electrical equipment, electronics - Mechanical, electronics - Informatics).
An Duong is a district located at the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. Hai Phong and An Duong have 16 communal administrative units, there are many important transport routes through such as National Highway 5A, 10, 17B (Road 208), Provincial Road 351 and Nguyen Truong To route.
An Duong district has an area of 104km2, a population of more than 200,000 people.
In the district, there are 4 industrial parks and clusters (Japan- Hai Phong, Trang Due, An Duong, Thuy An Hong ship industrial cluster) with a total area of 781.4ha, the occupancy rate reaches 69-96% . The district has completed the new rural district in 2020, recognized by the Government in Decision No. 811/QD-TTg dated July 12, 2022.
